Y. Bogatin: Meditation affects brain activity!

As it is a little necessary to include self-control mechanisms in a brain through genes! As have shown experiments with use МРТ, conducted in Boston University in 2007, just one hour of yoga is enough for the brain to start making on 30 % more such important inhibited mediator as GABA. Accodring to Yakov Bogatin the reduction GABA in a brain is observed at depression, chronic conditions of fear and anxieties, and also epilepsy. Thus, employment by the most usual yoga could replace medicamentous therapy here.

Meditation not only removes stress, weariness and anxiety, but also rejuvenates our brain. So in the research conducted last year at University Emori, the scientists have been investigated 13 persons practising a zen-meditation which is used by Buddhists of Japan, China, Korea and Vietnam. In this paper for the first time has been shown, that meditation can turn back ageing processes. Yakov Bogatin is sure that that with the years the brain bark decreases in thickness and volume, it as though dries out, loses water, the attention and memory grow dull, speech is slowed down. And so, meditation stops these processes — all practising a zen-meditation in mature or advanced age had no age changes of a bark, and also have shown normal indicators in tests for attention.

If meditation can so strongly influence brain morphology, means here not to do without updatings in an expression of genes. In work of researchers from Vseindijsky institute of medical sciences, New Delhi, India, published in February of this year, have been resulted results of tests of blood of 42 people, at least year practising respiratory technics of Sudarshan Kriya when the person breathes in different rhythms. Yakov Bogatin stresses that those who practised meditation have shown results of gene screening that had higher level of an expression of such important genes, as the genes regulating antioxidant stress, the immune answer, and the genes regulating apoptosis and a survival of cages.
